🔒 The Short Version: Your documents never leave your device. SlipCompare processes all files locally in your browser — we never see, store, or transmit your document content.
Our Privacy-First Approach
SlipCompare was built with privacy as a core principle. Unlike most online document tools that upload your files to their servers, SlipCompare uses client-side JavaScript to process everything locally in your web browser.
This means:
- Your documents never leave your device — all comparison processing happens in your browser
- We cannot see your files — we have no access to the content you compare
- No document storage — nothing is saved on our servers because nothing is sent to them
- Complete confidentiality — safe for legal documents, medical records, financial data, and any sensitive content
What Data We Do Collect
While we don't collect your document content, we do use standard web analytics to understand how our tool is used:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. This helps us improve SlipCompare.
- Local Storage: We may store preferences (like theme settings) in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
AI Assistant (Adam)
If you use our AI assistant feature on the tool page, your questions and any document text you share with the assistant are sent to our server to process your request. However:
- We do not store your conversations or document content
- Requests are processed and immediately discarded
- The AI assistant is optional — you can use the comparison tool without it
Cookies
SlipCompare uses minimal cookies:
- Analytics cookies: Used by Google Analytics to track anonymous usage
- Consent cookies: To remember your cookie preferences
You can manage cookie preferences using our consent manager or your browser settings.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: For anonymous usage analytics

SlipCompare is designed to be GDPR-compliant. Since we don't collect or store your document data, many GDPR concerns don't apply. For analytics data:

- You can request information about any data we hold
- You can request deletion of any data associated with your visit
Children's Privacy
SlipCompare is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
